Steel vs. Polycarbonate vs. Composite
Steel pools rust. That is a fact. The real question is how long will it last? Forget the hype and the sales pitch. Galvanized steel is a very strong and durable material. How many cars are built completely out of ploycarbonate plastic? Polycarbonate is strong and will not rust, but plastic cracks. The truth of the matter is that nothing is impervious to the elements and time. We often rebuild steel pools that are 25-35 years old. Yes, some are rusty but not to the point of requiring removal. Impressed by seeing a 30 year old car? Probably not, they are everywhere. The same goes with your neighbors old pool. It really is up to you, the customer.

Polycarbonate vs. Composite
Composite is actual layers in different directions, not just a plastic formed panel like what our larger competitors sell. Composite is much stronger and more crack resistant than polycarbonate. Both polycarbonate and composite are more expensive than steel and have only been out for 15 years or so.

We offer both composite and steel walled pools, but generally install steel. It is the buyer's choice. Please call us with any questions you may have about pool construction.
